Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you register for Innovation Challenge 2026 through this Portal, why we collect it, how it is stored, who can access it, and your rights over it. We take your privacy seriously, particularly because many of our participants are minors.

2. Data We Collect

The following information is collected from the Team Leader and each Team Member at the time of registration:

We do not collect Aadhar numbers. We collect only a photograph of the Aadhar card for identity verification.

3. Why We Collect This Data

  • Identity verification: To confirm participants are genuine enrolled students.
  • Eligibility check: To verify age, class, and institution requirements.
  • Communication: To contact participants about shortlisting, mentorship, and competition updates.
  • Project evaluation: To review and judge submissions for IC 2026.
  • Record-keeping: To maintain accurate competition records.

4. How and Where Data Is Stored

Your data is processed and stored using third-party services. All transmission occurs over HTTPS (encrypted). No data is stored on our own servers.

5. Who Can Access Your Data

  • Access to registration data is restricted to authorised members of Team Sanketra-I through a password-protected admin panel.
  • Data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
  • IC 2026 organisers at LPU may receive anonymised or summary data (e.g. number of registrations, themes selected) for competition planning.
  • Data may be disclosed if required by Indian law, court order, or government authority.

6. Data Retention

Your registration data, including identity document images, will be retained for a maximum of 1 year after the conclusion of IC 2026, after which it will be permanently deleted from all storage services.

You may request early deletion at any time by emailing us (see Section 9).

7. Children’s Privacy

Many participants are under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 10. For participants aged 10–17, we require that a parent or guardian is aware of and consents to registration. By submitting a registration, the participant confirms this consent has been obtained.

Parents or guardians may contact us to review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s data.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that inaccurate data be corrected.
  • Deletion: Request that your data be deleted before the standard retention period ends.
  • Withdrawal: Withdraw your registration and request data removal at any time before shortlisting.
